My Television Appearance

My Television Appearance

Four years ago, I was contacted by the folks at HGTV’s contemporary craft show, That’s Clever. They had spotted my Etsy shop, were going to be visiting New Hampshire, and were interested in having me appear on their show! Of course I agreed immediately. That summer, they paid me a visit here in my home studio, where we spent the entire day taping me for two segments. In one segment, I showed them how to make one of my plush characters and in the other I demonstrated how to make one of my bumble bee ornaments. I had a blast!

I was told that the show would be aired in Season 5 and my episode number was HCLVR-560. It took Season 5  four whole years to air completely, and for a long portion of that, my episode wasn’t even listed. However, it looks like my time has finally come. At long last, my episode is posted on HGTV’s website! I’m just waiting for the air date to pop up, so keep your eyes peeled!

While I’m awaiting my (quite literal) 15 minutes of national fame, I had time to reflect on just how much has happened in the four years since the taping.
Back in 2007, I:
• worked in the office at a preschool (I am currently a full-time graphic designer)
• had not started college for graphic design yet (I finished that degree this past spring)
• was not an auntie (my handsome little nephew is now nearly 2 and a half!)
• owned a hedgehog but no dog (sadly, my hedgehog has passed away but my husband and I adopted the most wonderful, smart, and goofy rescue dog any couple could hope to have.)
• had only been married for a couple months (we celebrated our 4 year wedding anniversary this past May.)

Four years may not sound like a long time, but look how much has happened! I’m curious to see the me from 4 years ago hitting the airwaves. It feels like a world away!
